Protecting your privacy is an important part of our data recovery process. Your device and personal information are handled with strict confidentiality throughout every stage of the recovery.

While access to your device may be required depending on the type of recovery, we only perform the work necessary to recover your data and maintain strict privacy procedures throughout the process.

Why Experience Matters

Data recovery is one of the most complex areas of device repair. Every case is different, and successful recovery often depends on experience, advanced diagnostic techniques, and the ability to accurately identify the underlying fault.

Since 2012, ubreakifix has successfully recovered data from thousands of devices, including MacBook with severe motherboard faults, liquid damage, and no power.

Step 1: Initial Assessment

Every Mac repair begins with a diagnostic assessment. This allows us to identify the issue, assess the condition of your device, and understand your recovery goals.

Some customers want to recover both their MacBook and their data. Others have already purchased a replacement device and only require their data to be recovered. Understanding your priorities allows us to recommend the most appropriate recovery solution.

Step 2: Logic Board Assessment

After our expert technicians understand the customer's expectations, they proceed with the diagnostics of the Mac. If data retrieval is the customer's priority, our expert team focuses on it, achieving a high success rate in data recovery.

However, if the customer does not require data recovery, our team shifts its focus to a hardware check. Our expert technician will check the logic board in our lab, which will allow us to determine the faulty component on the logic board.

In most cases, successful data recovery depends on restoring the original logic board sufficiently for the MacBook to power on and provide access to the stored data.

Step 3: Approval

Once the assessment is complete, we explain our findings, recommended recovery plan, estimated costs, expected outcomes, and any known limitations before seeking your approval to proceed.

Every recovery case is unique. The likelihood of a successful recovery depends on factors such as the type of fault, the extent of physical or liquid damage, and the condition of the logic board.

Whether your data can be recovered can only be determined after an initial diagnostic assessment. Our experienced technicians will provide an honest assessment before any recovery work begins.

What Types of MacBook Can We Recover Data From?

Our technicians regularly recover data from MacBook affected by a wide range of hardware faults and physical damage, including:

MacBook with no power
Liquid-damaged MacBooks
Cracked or physically damaged MacBook
Motherboard (logic board) faults
Boot loop issues (where recovery is possible)
MacBook that constantly restart
Devices that freeze on the Apple logo
Charging-related faults
Accidentally damaged devices
Fire or severe impact damage (subject to assessment)

Every recovery begins with a diagnostic assessment to determine the condition of the device and the likelihood of a successful recovery.

Data Recovery Services We Do Not Offer

We do not provide data recovery for devices with forgotten passcodes, or recovery of deleted or wiped photos, files, messages, or app data.

Recovery times vary depending on the complexity of the fault and the condition of the device. Some recoveries can be completed quickly, while others require extensive motherboard diagnostics and repair.

Our goal is always to recover your data as efficiently as possible without compromising the quality of the recovery process.

In most successful data recovery cases, the device will be restored to a working state to allow access to the recovered data. For this reason, you will need to enter the correct passcode to access your MacBook and verify that your data has been successfully recovered.

It is the customer's responsibility to provide or enter the correct passcode. If the correct passcode cannot be entered, uBreakiFix cannot accept responsibility for inaccessible data, and the agreed recovery charges will still apply.

The cost of data recovery depends on the type of fault, the MacBook model, and the complexity of the recovery process. Data recovery on newer MacBook models with encrypted and integrated storage can be highly complex.

Unlike traditional storage devices, the memory is securely paired to the logic board and cannot simply be removed to access the data externally. For this reason, an accurate recovery cost can only be determined after an initial diagnostic assessment.

Once the assessment is complete, we will explain our findings, provide an estimated recovery cost, and discuss the recommended recovery options before any work begins.

Payment is required before recovery work begins. If we are unable to recover your data, your payment will be refunded in accordance with this policy.

Since 2012, customers have trusted uBreakiFix with their valuable data and devices.

Our reputation has been built on honest advice, experienced technicians, transparent communication, and a commitment to recommending the most appropriate recovery solution for every customer.
